Artist Statement:
I have always been fascinated with translating what I see around me to art. Mastering the basic visual fundamentals with my personal inspirations, influences, and beliefs and translating that to a visual vocabulary that exists on its own is the challenge I meet each time I commit myself to a painting. My works exists in a world of contrasts...contrasts of shape and color, soft to hard edges, dark to light, solids to textures...a marriage of opposites that combines to speak to the viewer in my language of visualization conveying my style, my interpretation, my viewpoint, and the beauty I see in the world around us.
